The Bicycle-Friendly Toledo Streets Map Project
The Bicycle-Friendly Toledo Streets Map Project needs your help. Nominate streets you ride in one of four categories:
1) Bicycle paths separated from streets
2) Streets with designated bicycle paths
3) "Good" streets | Criteria: wide berms or bike-usable areas on the street; good, smooth road condition; light traffic; possible bicycle "Share the Road" signage
4) "Bad" streets | Criteria: No berms, narrow berms or crumbling berms; poor, crumbling road condition; Heavy auto traffic or commercial traffic
Remember, streets are probably not all "good" or "bad" for their entire length. When making a nomination, be sure to specify the section you are referring to, such as "Monroe from Detroit to Central."
Our goal is to compile an on-line directory and map to enable riders to cross town north/south or east/west and get to their jobs or shopping on streets which are as safe and pleasant as possible. This project, when it is completed, should be of value to road riders, commuters, utility riders and beginners alike.
Only major thoroughfares or significant connecting streets will be considered. Neighborhood or residential streets will not be considered unless they are a significant connector to major thoroughfares. Email your replies to editor@biketoledo.net.
Thanks for your help! We can't do it without you.
